ChatGPT (Generative Pretrained Transformer) – a state-of-the-art language model in natural language processing and machine learning developed by OpenAI, a leading research organization in the field of artificial intelligence.
In this article, I will discuss –
What is Chat GPT
Why is it popular
Chat GPT utility and applications
Chat GPT drawbacks and Future
Introduction of ChatGPT– GPT, or Generative Pretrained Transformer, is a machine learning model that uses deep learning techniques to generate human-like text such as generating responses to customer inquiries, answering questions, or engaging in general conversation. GPT is trained on a large dataset of human language, allowing it to generate text that is both coherent and diverse.
In Real-world, businesses are using AI and ML technology to enhance customer interactions and improvise service. Nowadays we see that almost all big online portals irrespective of their nature of business – be it online shopping on any service provider such as telecom or electricity. They all have chatbots on their platforms to interact. Yes, these chatbots are not user friendly and unable to address the issues.
In media some people claiming that it may replace Google but looking at the current features and capabilities it will not happen so early. Google concept is different, it fetches the data whatever people have uploaded on internet on various websites, forums, journals etc and it may be more authentic. If I am looking for certain complicated answer in that case I have to get the answer by browsing multiple websites which has been fetched by the Google. Google will not solve our puzzles or mathematical questions or will not write customised programming code.
But here Chat GPT offers advanced technique, it automatically provides the best and relevant answer as per its inputs and training. It answers user’s queries, solve mathematical questions, do write articles, poems etc.
Secondly whatever output we get via Chat GPT is based on the input provided to it and the capability of its training model. The way we train, accordingly it gives output.
It is wonderful to experiment with such as to write an article on variety of subjects or to solve any maths question such as trigonometry. I tried it and it worked wonderfully and provided correct answer. But when I wrote same query differently, it got confuse and did not respond properly.
Key Features of ChatGPT – Its ability to maintain context and keep track of the conversation over multiple turns. This allows it to generate more coherent and natural responses, and to have more nuanced and meaningful conversations with users.
Another notable feature of CHATGPT is its use of attention mechanisms, which allow it to focus on specific parts of the input text and use that information to generate more relevant and accurate responses.
Chatbot dialogue model has been trained to engage in human like conversation, ChatGPT responds to all types of writing, including essays, solutions to mathematical questions, poetry etc.
Applications of ChatGPT – GPT has a wide range of applications, it can be used –
- To generate responses to user inputs such as customer enquires
- Can be used as chatbots
- Can be used for language translation means translate text from one language to another
- Can generate content such as articles, blogs, poems etc
- Can be used in creative applications, such as generating music and poetry.
- It can write programming code.
- It can solve mathematics, physics questions etc.
What may be the future of ChatGPT- Overall, CHATGPT is a powerful tool for generating human-like responses to text input and for engaging in natural language conversations. It has a wide range of potential applications, including in customer service, chatbots, and other conversational interfaces. If GPT continues to improve, it has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with machines. The possibilities are endless.
Drawbacks of ChatGPT– Chat GPT can not be used without login and it informs the user that it is storing the entire conversation or user history. In any case GPT requires user data in order to train it to make it more user friendly and efficient.
It can not be trusted fully so human intervention is needed in case of advanced information.
It will affect human brain efficiency for sure. It is a matter of great concern if humans specially children become addictive of AI based models for their day-to-day activities, for sure it will be matter of medical research to know its affect on brain’s efficiency. For example, we used to do mathematical calculations orally in childhood but in today’s time children are mostly dependent on calculator except those who are learning Vedic Mathematics.
However, Any machine can never replace human intelligence and as far as human like conversation is concerned it will not succeed fully because humans are emotional and social. Also it may lack common sense- as they say common sense is not so common.
